Fabio Di bartolomei


He was born in Udine (I), the town in which he still lives.

In 1979 Di Bartolomei set up his own Design Agency in Udine (I) and later established international contacts which led to the opening of satellite offices in: NewYork (USA), Brendale Brisbane Qld (AU).

Di Bartolomei is involved in Industrial & Interior Design, Design of exhibitions, planning of buildings.

Some of his works have also been selected and exhibited in museums like: "The Museum of Modern Art" il MoMa di New York in the exhibition of "Mutant materials in contemporary design" and in "The Cornig Museum of Glass" di Cornig-NY (USA). His personal Design exhibitions have been set up in Italy as well as abroad.

In 1991 he designed the "TOKYO" table for CALLIGARIS that was selected for the "Young & Design 1991" award in Milan.

In 1996 he was awarded the "Marcello D’Olivo" (I) prize for design.

In 1999 he designed "STAR GAME" Sidereal Clock Displayed at Udine (I) the Theatre Giovanni da Udine and in Prague (CZ) in the Astronomic Observatory

In 2001 he co-staging of the exhibition dedicated to the poet Rainer Maria Rilke that was held in the National Library in Prague (CZ).

In 1997, in 1999 and in 2007 won the TOP TEN award at the International Chair Exhibition in Udine,(I).

In 2007, he was awarded the international prize “Interior Innovation Award Cologne 2007” (D)

In 2015 Parson's Parson360 IoT objects collection born from the collaboration of Video Systems winner of the IFSEC Security & Fire Excellence Awards, the OSCARS OF THE SECURITY INDUSTRY, in the category “Communication Product of the Year 2015”.

Di Bartolomei during his career he has designed numerous design works ranging, from chairs, furniture, to accessories, lamps, to jewelry, to pens, as well as Oliver B, for others the most qualified brands including: Associazione Industriali Udine, Aurora Penne, B.I.C. Carpets (B), Bieffeplast, Calligaris, B.P. Sedie, Chamber of Commerce of Udine, Com.P.Ar., Confartigianato Pordenone, Fiam Italia, Frag, DEM, Domitalia, Gruppo Sintesi, JDS International, Linea Fabbrica, Linea Italia, Marmo Arredo, Montina, Microdowell, Musig Sedie, Novas Design, Oliver B Group, Passoni Luigi Sedie, Promosedia, PSM, Reina (CZ), Rossi di Albizzate, Soft Line-All Kit, Skipper, Tonon, Top Line, Video Systems.

In 2009 he designed a special chairs show that has been set up on the Naviglio Grande in Milan (I) during the Salone del Mobile In Milan (I) named “Floating Chairs” more than 100 chairs for a floating sculpture.

Among his BOATS projects, has especially designed "ECO waterbus" new boat for the city of Venice. It is an eco-sustainable boat. This his project is for a highly technological boat used to the public people transport: there are powered engines with the Hydrogen Fuel Cell, so without any production of CO2 and therefore non-polluting. Furthermore, the hull adequately designed produces a very low wave motion, which is one of the major causes of the deterioration of the buildings of the Venice. The waterbus will be governed also by satellite through computer technology.

Materials research has always been the key point, the base from which, for its projects.

Former professor of design at the Faculty of Architecture in Udine and in Trieste University (I) and at A.F.A. in Verona (I) , in 2004 his biografy and work has been included in “The Museum of Modern Art Design Enciclopedia” published by MoMa di New York.

In 2012 he founded E+20 branch Agency that deals with the organization of conferences and meetings.

His commitment to design is also extended to publishing. He has several years headings, on the design theme, in some known magazines.
